Bathroom Renovation Checklist
Renovating your bathrooms is an expensive and sometimes stressful task. There are a few things that you can do to better manage the bathroom renovation process.

Whether you are self-managing or a contractor is managing the process for you, there are a few tips that can make the process less stressful.
The build process can be quite confusing. Make sure you understand the build process and spend some time with your builder, plumber, tiler and suppliers to make sure you understand what has to happen, in what order and by whom.
Don’t be the person complaining about how long it is taking for waterproofing to dry, or that the tiler is supposed to be here today and the plumber is not finished yet. Get the facts, draw a timeline and get involved.
Some things take more time to finish than others. I have attached a timeline drawing below, use it to ask the right questions and make sure your project flows to completion.
When you plan to start, make sure your trades are prepared for their turn. Make sure they have planned for your project. Call them one week out from their expected workday, call again 2 days before their expected workday and confirm via SMS the night before to find out what time they will be on-site tomorrow. (The tradies are going to love me for telling you this.)
Ask them if they have other projects running at the same time. This is OK as long as they have planned your project to coincide with drying time or other trades times and will therefore not impact on your completion date.
